Standards note. Cleaning follows NADCA ACR guidance for HVAC component cleaning. Airflow measurements are recorded before and after so the improvement is a number, not a claim. For hospital theatres, NABH’s Revised Guidelines for Air Conditioning in Operation Theatres (2018) call for pre-filter and micro-vee filter cleaning every 30 days and AHU preventive maintenance to the manufacturer’s schedule, alongside six-monthly validation of air changes, particulate count and pressure differential.

Coils cleaned with low-pressure methods and coil-safe agents; blower, housing and drain pan degreased and disinfected; filters replaced or cleaned per spec.

What does AHU cleaning include?
Cooling coil deep cleaning, blower and housing cleaning, drain pan disinfection, filter service, plenum vacuuming and post-clean airflow verification — documented with photos and readings.
How is this different from what our AMC vendor does?
Routine AMCs typically wash filters and wipe accessible surfaces. Coil depth cleaning, blower internals and measured air balancing need dedicated equipment and are usually outside AMC scope.
How much energy does a clean AHU save?
A four-site field study in Energy and Buildings (Ildiri et al. 2025, supported by NADCA) measured 41–60% less fan and blower energy in cleaned systems than in near-identical uncleaned ones — the range of site averages, statistically significant at two of the four sites. None of the sites was in India, so treat it as direction rather than a quote: the health audit and air-balancing readings measure your unit.
