Standards note. Passive fire protection follows the compartmentation intent of the National Building Code; firestop materials are installed per their tested manufacturer details. Sites run under our ISO 45001:2018 safety system — hot-work permits included.

Compartment survey
Rated walls, floors and doors are walked and mapped; every breach — penetrations, gaps, damaged doors — is logged with a photo and location.

Scoped remediation plan
Findings become an itemised scope: material, method and rating per breach. This is the document your auditor and procurement both work from.

Fire-stopping works
Penetrations are sealed with rated firestop systems installed to the manufacturer’s tested detail — matched to the service type and wall construction, not one sealant for everything.

Door & hardware remediation
Fire doors repaired or replaced so they close, latch and seal; hardware and gaps brought back to the door’s rating.

Compartment closure file
Before/after photos per breach, materials used and locations mapped — filed compartment by compartment, the way a fire auditor checks it.

What is passive fire protection?
The built-in containment of a building: rated walls, floors, doors and the sealing of every service penetration through them. It doesn’t fight a fire — it holds it in one compartment long enough for people to leave and systems to respond. Fire audits fail most often on exactly this layer.
Why did our recent fit-out create fire-audit findings?
Fit-outs route new cables, pipes and ducts through rated walls, and the openings rarely get resealed to the wall’s rating. The compartment survey finds those breaches and the remediation plan prices them item by item.
Do you install and maintain CCTV and access control?
Yes — supply, installation and upkeep of CCTV and access-control systems, either as a standalone project or under the same AMC that covers the site’s electromechanical work.
What evidence do we get for the auditor?
A compartment-by-compartment closure file: each breach photographed before and after, the rated material used, and its location on the plan. Auditors accept documentation they can spot-check on site.
